There are two types of IELTS examination systems, 'Academic' and 'General'. Candidates who want to go abroad for higher education have to take the 'Academic IELTS' test. Anyone can take part in this test. No educational qualification is required for this.

Acceptance worldwide
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
According to the University of Cambridge, more than 1.4 million students and professionals take the IELTS exam every year for higher education and employment. Peter Ashton, Director of Examinations at the British Council Bangladesh, said that in addition to higher education, IELTS scores are mandatory for immigration in many countries, including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. IELTS is far ahead of TOEFL internationally in terms of acceptability.

Conducting tests
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The IELTS test is jointly administered by the University of Cambridge, the British Council, and IDP Australia. Although Cambridge University is the policy-maker for the exam, the British Council and IDP Australia are playing a key role in conducting the exam worldwide and providing information to students. All over the world the same question papers and the same rules are followed.

Some misconceptions
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Many people think that IELTS is a very difficult test. In fact, it is a misconception. According to British Council sources, a good score on this test is possible even if you are quite proficient in English. However, the way the IELTS test is conducted in the United Kingdom, Australia, or neighbouring India is no exception in Bangladesh.

Test method
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
IELTS test can be given in two modules. Academic and General Training. To study at undergraduate, postgraduate, or Ph.D. level one has to take exams in academic modules. If you want to take part in any technical subject or training, you usually have to take an exam in General Training Module. Apart from this, for admission in secondary school and for immigration, examinations have to be given in the general training module. Before sitting for the IELTS exam, find out which module you need to take the exam. The difference between the two methods is very small. The IELTS test consists of four parts in two types of modules. Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

Listening
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The ability to hear and understand conversations is tested in this part. A total of 40 questions have to be answered in four sections. You will be heard playing a passage in English, with the question paper in front of you, you will have to answer based on that listening, what is meant by that audiotape. The test lasts about 30 minutes. You have to write the answer in the last 10 minutes. A subject is played only once. If you don't understand any part, it is better not to worry about it anymore. Because there is a risk of not understanding the answers to the following questions. Choosing the right answer, short answer, sentence completion, etc. can be a variety of questions.

Reading
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
According to most students, it seems difficult in all parts of IELTS. Here you have to answer 40 questions in three sections. Time is one hour. Reading tests the ability to read and understand a passage. You will be given a huge three-four paragraph, from which you will have to give a very simple answer. But you can't easily get those simple answers unless you understand the passage properly. You have to spend a lot of time to understand the passage properly, and then the time will be reduced in the rest of the passage. This is how this simple test becomes difficult for all the examinees. In other words, if you pass this test without mastering some strategy, then you will not be able to keep up with the times, no matter how confident you are. English medium students can be an exception. Here too, sentence completion, short answer, There will be questions like finding the right answer. Mark important parts while reading. It will be convenient to find the answer.

Writing
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The test here is how much imagination you can use and write on a topic. You have to write the answers to two questions in one hour. The second question has twice the number of the first question. Therefore, you can write the answer to the second question well at the beginning. You can spend about 20 minutes on the first question. Write an answer of at least 150 words. You can take 40 minutes to answer the second question. Write at least 250 words. There is no harm if the word count is a little higher. But if it is less, the number will be less. The first question usually consists of a chart, a diagram. From this one has to write analytical answers in one's own words. The second question usually involves presenting an opinion for or against a subject.

Speaking
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
There is no writing here. You must go to the test site (usually the British Council) on a specific day. There you have to sit in front of two or three examiners. They will ask you questions in different ways in English, you will answer them. The test lasts 11 to 14 minutes in three parts. In the first part, the examinee is asked some general questions, such as - family, studies, work, friends, etc. You have to answer in four to five minutes. The second part is to talk about a specific topic and two minutes. Before that one minute is given to think. The third part consists of four to five minutes of conversation with the examiner on a specific topic.
Example: Suppose, you have visited a Pharmaceutical company. Now would you please explain what did you see there? - Marca can ask a question.
